Product Overview

AIDOC Copilot is your exclusive intelligent companion for Word, integrating global top-tier LLMs to provide an immersive AI writing and typesetting experience.

AIDOC Copilot Product Overview

1. What is AIDOC Copilot?

AIDOC Copilot is a sidebar add-in deeply integrated into Microsoft Word (Office Add-in). It brings the world’s most advanced generative AI capabilities directly into your document editing window, enabling an immersive “outline on the left, AI on the right” creation flow.

Unlike browser-based AI chats, AIDOC Copilot is “Born in Word, understands Word.” It not only answers questions but also comprehends the context of your selected text and inserts AI-generated content into the cursor position with perfect native Word formatting.

2. Core Features

🤖 Multi-LLM Support

No need to switch between different webpages; a single add-in accesses global mainstream large models. Switch on demand to flexibly handle different tasks:

  • DeepSeek / Qwen / Doubao: Strong Chinese understanding, suitable for domestic official document writing.
  • ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini: Preferred for logical reasoning and creative writing.
  • Custom Models: Supports connecting your private OpenAI-compatible APIs.

✍️ Context Awareness

Copilot “sees” the document you are editing:

  • Selection Explanation/Translation: Select a piece of obscure technical terminology, and AI immediately provides an explanation in the sidebar.
  • One-Click Polishing: Select a draft paragraph and let AI expand, summarize, or rewrite it in a formal tone, directly replacing the original text.
  • Citation Generation: Select parts of the text as reference material and ask AI to generate subsequent content based on it.

📝 Smart Insertion

Say goodbye to the tedious “copy-paste-reformat” process. Click the “Insert” button on the message card:

  • Native Style Adaptation (Mode A): Automatically identifies the current document’s heading, body, and list styles. Generated headings will automatically follow your document’s hierarchy (e.g., H1, H2).
  • Complex Element Rendering: Supports converting Markdown tables to Word tables and automatically rendering Mermaid code into high-definition flowcharts.
  • Math Formulas: Built-in LaTeX engine renders complex scientific formulas perfectly as Word equation objects.

3. The Golden Partner of AIDOC Station

AIDOC Copilot and AIDOC Station (local hub) are complementary golden partners:

  • Copilot handles frontend interaction: Provides the sidebar chat interface, processes user commands, and connects to LLM APIs.
  • Station handles backend rendering: Acts as the local rendering engine for Copilot, responsible for high-fidelity format conversion (Markdown to Word XML), image generation, and advanced typesetting tasks.

[!NOTE] Using Copilot’s advanced insertion features (such as image rendering, complex tables) requires AIDOC Station to be running in the background.
